What motivates you when you need an extra push?

The reminder that I don't like to do anything in a state of rush or panic always pushes me to get back on track and keep at it, even if it's one painstakingly slow step at a time.

If you were a color, what color would you be and why?

That's an easy answer, it would be green! I have always gravitated towards this color and I feel both energized and comforted when I wear or surround myself with the color green. It reminds me of nature, life, and exuberant energy.

What is one piece of advice you would give young women looking to achieve their career goals?

You can't build anything on a faulty foundation so take the time to forge the career you want, don't rush things. Be consistent in expanding your present state from learning useful skills, both hard and soft, actively networking, and nurturing relationships as these things come with time but are immensely valuable to the growth of your career and self.

Who are the women who inspire you?

I am inspired by former prime minister Jacinda Ardern from her leadership style to taking time to be a new mother during her term. She did not shy away from who she is — female, mom, and partner — while formerly the most powerful figure in her country. She demonstrated that these roles do not need to be mutually exclusive.

I am immensely inspired by my mother-in-law who has devoted her life to her family, creating an organization dedicated to down syndrome children in her hometown and selflessly taking care of her husband for over two decades. She has worked tirelessly and put others before herself and that to me is truly admirable.

How would you describe your personal style?

This is always a tough question for me even though I've answered it many times. I tend to change how I dress based on the seasons, winter — stark and unfussy — with my usual go-tos being tailored pants or denim with a classic crew neck sweater or tee of some sort, and a menswear outerwear, be it a blazer or coat. While in the summer, my style blossoms into more feminine touches such as laces, florals, and free flowing silhouettes.

I think the underlying theme between these different aesthetics is that I feel comfortable in the proportions I put together. I tend to go with high-waisted bottoms, boxy tops and jackets, and mid-length skirts and dresses that work for my body.

How do you unwind after a long or stressful day?

A cup of herbal tea, and lots and lots of cuddles with my cat, kids or husband - whoever's around, some times all at once!

For work or personal, where has been your favorite place you’ve traveled to recently?

I was just in Palm Springs for a short work trip and I'm always in awe of the beauty of the desert and dramatic mountains as the backdrop.
