Danuta Mieloch

Award-winning esthetician, entrepreneur, and founder Danuta Mieloch gives us a tour of Rescue Spa's NYC boutique and chatted all things skincare and motivation tips.

What was your inspiration for founding Rescue Spa and getting into skincare?

I was inspired by the idea of creating a sanctuary where beauty and wellness meet. As a Polish immigrant, I grew up with an appreciation for self-care rituals and the transformative power of a great facial. I wanted to bring that European approach to skincare to the U.S., combining expert techniques, luxury products, and a personalized touch. Rescue Spa was born out of my passion for helping people feel their best in their skin.

What has been the proudest moment for you in your career?

The proudest moment of my career has been the launch of Danucera. It’s a deeply personal project, rooted in years of experience and my belief in clean, results-driven skincare. Seeing it resonate with people and becoming part of their daily rituals has been incredibly fulfilling.

Who are the women that inspire you?

I’m inspired by women who embrace their authenticity and lead with grace and strength. My mother, for her resilience and wisdom. Women like Coco Chanel and Helena Rubinstein, who revolutionized their industries. And, of course, the everyday women I encounter—clients, colleagues, and friends—who embody beauty, intelligence, and determination.

Your focus is on educating beauty enthusiasts - if you could give one piece of beauty advice, what would it be?

Consistency is key. You don’t need a complicated routine, just a thoughtful one. Taking 5 minutes a day for the Danucera Method—5 steps of cleansing, toning, treating, moisturizing, and caring for the eyes—is the most timeless and effective way to care for your skin.

How would you describe your personal style?

Effortless elegance with a focus on timeless pieces. I love mixing classic silhouettes with luxurious fabrics and a hint of modern edge. Whether it’s a beautifully tailored blazer or a simple cashmere scarf, I always gravitate toward quality over quantity.

What motivates you when you need an extra push?

My clients and community inspire me. Hearing their stories and knowing that the work I do makes a difference motivates me to keep pushing forward. I also find strength in my Polish heritage—remembering the sacrifices my family made and the journey that brought me here gives me the drive to keep going.

If you were a color, what color would you be and why?

I would be white. White symbolizes clarity, simplicity, and purity—all qualities I strive for in my work and life. It’s a color of new beginnings, much like the journey I embarked on when I founded Rescue Spa and Danucera.
