Occupation?
I am the Crisis Services Digital Associate here at The Trevor Project which means that I work directly to support and build community with our text and chat counselors and oversee many of the logistics of our digital crisis services.
If you were a color, what color would you be and why?
Yellow because New York City winter is coming, and it reminds me of warmth
Who is a woman that inspires you?
Janet Mock because she is a brilliant creative and a fierce advocate for the LGBTQ community
What is your favorite piece of art, film or book you have seen or read recently?
“On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous,” a novel by Ocean Vuong. It’s queer, it’s poetic and it’s perfect.
Where would you like to travel to next?
I’d like to go back to Italy because I want to take a bite of Parmesan so delicious that it makes me cry like Samin Nosrat in Netflix’s Salt Fat Acid
What keeps you motivated when you need an extra push?
I feel so inspired by the truly compassionate people I get to work with, and as a queer person feel a strong personal tie to our mission of ending LGBTQ youth suicide. I also try to make space in my life to feel the heaviness of what we do, and also make a lot of time to laugh with people I love and spend time doing the creative things I love like writing and photography.
